What I Packed for 9 Days in Paris

We visited Paris back in February for 9-days – see the details of our trip here! Before each trip, I do a ton of research on the weather to get an idea of what I should pack. For this trip, there wasn’t going to be snow but I definitely needed to pack for weather colder than February in Texas. In my experience, the key to packing for international trips is (1) layers and (2) mix-and-match. I try to pack items that can go well with different outfits and will keep me warm (at least in cold weather climates). Here is what I packed (and used) for 9 days in Paris.…

    101 in 1001 Update #1

In January, I started a list of 101 things I wanted to do in 1001 days. Obviously 2020 has been a terrible year but it’s nice to reflect back on that list to see how much I have done in only 7 months. Personal 1. Read at least 10 books (Making progress – 4 out of 10) As I said in my post, I’m not a big reader. I am lucky to finish even one book in a year, at yet, the first place I want to go to relax in a bookstore. This year, I have tried to challenge myself to pick up a book instead of my phone.…

In the spirit of the new year and decade, I want to challenge myself to accomplish short-term and long-term goals. Inspired by Design Darling, this list will have 101 things I want to accomplish over the next 1001 days (2.75 years). My goal is to complete all (if not most) of these items, but will try to stay realistic and remind myself that life happens. 101 Things in 1001 Days Start Date: January 15, 2020 End Date: October 12, 2022 Personal ( 0 / 17 ) Read at least 10 books (I’m not a big reader). Girls Trip to Vegas + Zion National Park

Over July 4th weekend, a few of my girlfriends and I went on a girls trip to go to Zion National Park! Now I wouldn’t necessarily consider myself and “outdoorsy” type of girl, but this trip was a blast. It was a weekend filled with good food, catching up and lots of hiking. To be quite honest, I’m not sure how we settled on Zion as our trip but it was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. Luckily for us, one of my girlfriends (and bridesmaids), Sabrina, is an avid hiker so she was our go-to person for all things hiking. Plus she had visited Zion…

My Top 5 Passion Projects for 2018

I was scrolling through Instagram last night, as I usually do before bed, and stumbled upon the idea of passion projects. I thought it was just another Instagram hashtag that people were using, but I did some research (aka a Google search) and it’s actually a thing! A passion project is essentially a side project that interests you. Initially that seems pretty broad but I think that’s what makes it a great concept. I love the idea of having projects outside of your daily work life that is centered around a topic that you are passionate about. There have been plenty of things that I have always had an interest in but…

    2018 Goals

I can’t believe another year has passed and we are in 2018! Last year was possibly one of the most stressful yet most wonderful years of my life. I experienced my first “busy season” as a full-time auditor with 16+ hour work days. On top of that, I was trying to plan my dream wedding! If you ask my now husband what our lives were like last year he would definitely say those were trying times. Luckily for us, we made it through. It has been over a year as a working professional and now I am now a wife (it still feels weird to say). 2018 feels like a…
