    Restaurant Diaries: Din Tai Fung

Dim sum is one of my favorite styles of eating. Small plates of Chinese food, and A LOT of it! We have amazing Chinese food in Houston, but in our recent travels, I’ve re-connected with one of my food loves – Din Tai Fung! It’s a Michelin-star dim sum restaurant that originated in Taiwan but has 100+ locations all over the world. We have been lucky enough to go to two of those locations – Las Vegas at the ARIA and London at Centre Point. Both locations were very different vibes but had amazing food. The menus differed slightly in the way that some dishes were cooked, but their iconic…

    101 in 1001 Update #3

It’s been a while since my last 101 and 1001 Update back in November 2020 (feels like a lifetime ago), so I figured it would be a great time to do an update! Now that it’s been over a year and a few new life updates, I’ve had more time to spend on my hobbies, including this blog. Original Post Update #1: August 11, 2020 Update #2: November 15, 2020 Personal 1. Read at least 10 books (COMPLETE) I am surprised by myself that I COMPLETED this goal!!! 101 in 1001 Update #2

In January, I started a list of 101 things I wanted to do in 1001 days. Now that my company has decided we are working from home most likely through the end of Q1 (that’s March 31st for you non-accounting/finance friends), I have finally decided to settle into this new “normal”. We have become *somewhat* more productive, at least as much as we can from staying at home. It has been over 3 months since my last update, so I figured this would be the perfect opportunity do an update, especially because a lot of milestones have occurred (ie. anniversaries, elections, etc). Original Post Update #1: August 11, 2020 Personal 1. Read…

    Houston City Guide

When I am asked where I am from, I always and proudly say Houston, Texas. It is one of the largest cities in the country (and growing). However, I sometimes feel like I’m lying just a smidgen when I say “I’m from Houston, Texas”. I was born in College Station, Texas, a college-town just shy of 2-hours northwest from Houston, and was raised in Clear Lake City, a suburb just 30-minutes southeast of downtown Houston. While I was raised in the city of Houston, my understanding of the real city was limited. Now that I have moved back to Houston, I am determined to explore this city I call home.…

    Weekend Bachelorette Party in Austin!

It’s been 3 since getting married, but almost 4 months since my bachelorette party! My sister and Maid of Honor planned such a fun weekend with my closest friends. I knew I wanted to do something in Austin because there were so many different things to do and it was a pretty central location for everyone. Think hiking, swimming, shopping, and lots of eating. I told my sister I wanted a relaxing weekend with activities around Austin during the day, chill evenings, and lots of photo ops! In my opinion she did just that. I went to school in Austin for 5 years to get my Bachelor and Master degrees…
