    Owen’s Nursery

My favorite room in our house is easily Owen’s nursery. I planned it out many months before his arrival and Drew helped make my dream a reality. While I wasn’t able to do as much as I would have liked, it was such a fun process creating this space for our family – mainly for me because Owen didn’t even sleep in there for the first month. The Vision I’ve used PowerPoint to “vision board” a few rooms in our home to help visualize the space with things we already have and potential new pieces. It has been super helpful to see how the different variations of a room would…

    Owen’s Birth Story

Our son, Owen Wiley, was born on February 14, 2024 at 4:43 pm. My overall birth experience was amazing and I feel very thankful for the hospital nurses, staff and of course, my doctor, who thankfully was able to be there for the delivery! The Week Before The week before Owen’s arrival, I had experienced minor cramps in the early mornings, sometimes waking me up, but they weren’t any worse than period cramps. Since this was my first birth, I wasn’t sure if those cramps were real contractions or Braxton Hicks contractions. I was on high alert for the 5-1-1 rule (contractions that are 5 minutes apart, that are 1…

Our Stay at Andronis Luxury Suites

In October, Drew and I went back to Santorini for our 5-year anniversary trip! We went to Oia, Santorini for a portion of our honeymoon and loved it so much that we wanted to return for our first milestone anniversary. During our original trip, we stayed at Atrina Canava 1894 and had a great time! For our second visit back to the island, we wanted to try somewhere new and picked Andronis Luxury Suites. You can’t really go wrong with any resort on the island, but I had a few criteria in mind when picking our resort. From location to amenities to price, I tried to think of anything and…

    101 in 1001 Update #4 (Final)

It’s been a minute! But I’m back with my final update for my 101 in 1001 (Update #4). It’s hard to believe I started this back in January 2020, which feels like a lifetime ago. My life has completely changed since then and my priorities in life have completely shifted, but it’s fun to see what I have experienced in the 1001 days! Original Post Update #1: August 11, 2020 Update #2: November 15, 2020 Update #3: December 26, 2021 Personal 2. Run (or walk) a 5K (COMPLETE) Back in April 2022, Drew and I ran/walked our first 5K together! It was the green6.2 and 5K that was hosted by…

    2021 Life Update

It has been a while since my last blog post (6 months to be specific). Since that time, we’ve lived through six more months of work-from-home and wanted to do a life update. Upon reflection, quite a few things have changed over the past six months and it’s fun to track life events and updates! I’m planning on doing another 101 in 1001 update soon with a (surprisingly) long list of updates. I finished my 4th busy season (5th year of work). I’ve worked at the same public accounting company since I graduated in 2016 and finished my 4th busy season. This would have been my 5th, but I missed…

    101 in 1001 Update #2

In January, I started a list of 101 things I wanted to do in 1001 days. Now that my company has decided we are working from home most likely through the end of Q1 (that’s March 31st for you non-accounting/finance friends), I have finally decided to settle into this new “normal”. We have become *somewhat* more productive, at least as much as we can from staying at home. It has been over 3 months since my last update, so I figured this would be the perfect opportunity do an update, especially because a lot of milestones have occurred (ie. anniversaries, elections, etc). Original Post Update #1: August 11, 2020 Personal 1. Read…

A Day in the Life: Quarantine Edition

Happy March 214th! It’s hard to keep track of the date or even day of the week these days. We’re entering month six of working from home (crazy!) and have no plans to return until 2021. While I feel very lucky working from home because I have the resources and space to do so comfortably, I miss having a proper schedule that includes leaving the house. I thought it would be fun to document a day in the life: quarantine edition! One day we will look back on this time as a distant memory, so I figured it would be nice to have a record of a “typical” day. This…

    2019 in Review

To be quite honest, this year has been an emotional roller coaster. I have experienced the deepest sadness, but also felt joy in many ways. As I reflect on this past year, I want to remember these moments that have defined the person that I am. It’s important to not discount and embrace the painful moments because they shape who you are and help you grow. January I hosted my best friends bachelorette weekly in Austin! It was filled with lots of hot tub-ing, pole dancing classes and explicit souvenirs (because duh). I’ve been to five bachelorette parties, including my own, and they have all been in Austin – but…
