My favorite room in our house is easily Owen’s nursery. I planned it out many months before his arrival and Drew helped make my dream a reality. While I wasn’t able to do as much as I would have liked, it was such a fun process creating this space for our family – mainly for me because Owen didn’t even sleep in there for the first month. The Vision I’ve used PowerPoint to “vision board” a few rooms in our home to help visualize the space with things we already have and potential new pieces. It has been super helpful to see how the different variations of a room would…

2021 Life Update
It has been a while since my last blog post (6 months to be specific). Since that time, we’ve lived through six more months of work-from-home and wanted to do a life update. Upon reflection, quite a few things have changed over the past six months and it’s fun to track life events and updates! I’m planning on doing another 101 in 1001 update soon with a (surprisingly) long list of updates. I finished my 4th busy season (5th year of work). I’ve worked at the same public accounting company since I graduated in 2016 and finished my 4th busy season. This would have been my 5th, but I missed…

101 in 1001 Update #1
In January, I started a list of 101 things I wanted to do in 1001 days. Obviously 2020 has been a terrible year but it’s nice to reflect back on that list to see how much I have done in only 7 months. Personal 1. DIY Kitchen Renovation
Painting our kitchen cabinets has been on our to-do list since the day we moved in. Our house is from the early 2000s (which I have to remind myself is almost 20 years ago) and came with the standard “turn of the century” glossy-oak cabinets. Having been in quarantine for over two months, we were itching for a home project – so, operation DIY kitchen renovation began! Before This is a stock photo from our home listing before we bought it (because I forgot to take a real “before” photo). It was a perfectly fine kitchen, just not the look we were going for. Supplies We went to Lowe’s and…

DIY Garden Wall
As part of our home improvement projects each year for our annual Halloween party (yes, we are Halloween-motivated), Drew and I wanted to create our backyard oasis. We knew when we were looking for our first home, we wanted backyard space for (1) our future fur baby and (2) to start a garden. Neither of us really have a green thumb but since we had the space we wanted to give plant life a try. The Space and Base About 12 months prior to our DIY weekend, we purchased our new bedroom furniture and got rid of our old furniture. I had a feeling that the base of our old…
