Recent Empties – October 2022

A few weeks ago, I happened to finish up a handful of products at the same time so I thought it would be fun to round up a list of my recent empties. These products have lasted quite a long time so it’s satisfying to finally reach the end of them and give myself an excuse to buy more!

P.S. I’ve become an Ulta gal so most of the links below are either Ulta or Target. You can get a lot of these items from Sephora or directly from the brands’ websites.

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

My holy grail makeup product is the Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray! I have very oily skin but this product keeps my makeup staying put ALL NIGHT. I’m talking a “jumping and screaming for a 3-hour Taylor Swift concert (Reputation tour) and my face looked PERFECT” style all-night makeup. I take this with me on all of my trips and love it! It’s a bit pricey, but I think it’s worth every penny.

CeraVe Hydra Facial Cleanser + Foaming Facial Cleanser

I also used up a travel-size CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser and a full-size CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser. I wasn’t a fan of the hydrating cleanser but absolutely love the foaming cleanser. They are both very gentle on your skin and fragrance-free. I prefer the second because it’s oil control and works better for my skin type. Now I have travel and full-size versions of the foaming facial cleanser!

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Hydrating Serum

I LOVE THIS BRAND AND PRODUCT! The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Hydrating Serum was one of the first serums I purchased and it truly does hydrate my skin. The Ordinary brand simplifies skincare and provides the key ingredients without the fragrance and fluff that a lot of other skincare brands include in their products – and all at a great price point! My skin feels hydrated every morning when I use this as part of my nighttime skincare the night before.

First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub

Another new favorite of mine is the First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub. I purchased the travel size to try it out and see if I liked it. After a few weeks of use (2-3x per week), I started to notice a difference on my arms. I follow it up with FAB Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration – I’m using the travel size because, of course, I’m testing it out but so far so good. I’ve already purchased the full-size version to include in my weekly self-care routine.

Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm

This is my favorite makeup remover – and my favorite way to remove makeup! I’ve used Clinique’s Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm for years (I think since 2016) and I love it. It really melts my makeup off, including my waterproof mascara, and most importantly, doesn’t sting my eyes! I recently (accidentally) took my brand-new full-size version to Europe with us and they threw it away. So I need to restock ASAP!

Dove Nourishing Body Wash

A new favorite of mine is the Dove Relaxing Lavender Oil & Chamomile Nourishing Body Wash. I know fragranced products aren’t the cleanest or best for your skin, but nothing makes me happier than having lavender body wash that makes it feel like I’m at the spa! It foams up nicely and makes my skin feel clean and nourished. I recently tried Olay Moisture Ribbons Plus Shea + Lavender Oil Body Wash and it’s a no for me – so I will be going back to my tried-and-true as soon as I finish up the Olay.

Head & Shoulders 2-in-1 Shampoo & Conditioner

This is actually Drew’s shampoo, but I actually used this a lot the past few months because 1) I’m VERY lazy and 2) I don’t want to use my Olaplex as much anymore because of the *alleged* fertility issues it may cause. I need to do a bit more research on a better shampoo/conditioner but until then, Drew’s may have to do! It has a subtle almond scent and it makes my hair feel fresh and clean for a few days.

Advil

Not to promote drugs, but Advil has been a real staple product in our household. We try not to take it too often and only when we need it, but I want to say we’ve had this bottle from Costco for over a year. We’re not particular, so any type of ibuprofen is helpful in a pinch (and desperately needed at times)!

While I love trying new things, I am the type to stick to what I know and love – and most of the things on this list are on the LOVE list. I’m trying out a few new products but I know these are ones that I can come back to and trust and will definitely purchase the next time I run out!

Happy shopping!

Vivian
