My 7 Favorite Places to DoorDash

When stay-at-home first started, we ate at home for every meal. Drew’s survivalist instincts kicked in and we were those people who stashed canned goods and frozen meals. We aren’t normally the cook-at-home type but it was a welcome change because we saved money and ate healthier (aka less fried foods).

Six months and 49172 home-cooked meals later, I am tired of home-cooked meals and can’t wait to get back into restaurants. Luckily, I got DashPass with DoorDash* earlier this year as part of my Chase credit card (shout out to Chase Sapphire Reserve). I can now order a meal, snack, or drink without leaving my house.

* This is my referral link. You’ll get $15 off your first 3 orders ($5 off for your first 3 orders) when you use it to sign-up for DoorDash.

I’m finding myself ordering quite frequently, I’m talking 2-3 times per month (oops hello old me), but I consider it my treats for the week. As a frequent “Dasher”, I’ve rounded up our favorite places to DoorDash.

Island Grill

Home to my favorite caesar salad, this Mediterranean restaurant is fast and reliable! A coworker recommended this place for dinner during busy season and I have loved it since. They accept our order almost immediately and never get our order wrong.

My pick: Caesar salad with romaine lettuce and chicken

Pokeworks

What I consider to be a “light and healthy” meal, I order Pokeworks when I’ve had a little to much grease in my diet. You can customize your order on the app, including base, mix-ins, and toppings. I would recommend ordering only if it’s close since there is raw fish!

My pick: Regular poke bowl with sushi rice, salmon x2, Pokeworks classic sauce, cucumber, edamame, seaweed salad, surimi salad and wonton crisps

The Teahouse Tapioca & Tea

MY FRIDAY TREAT! I crave their milk tea and popcorn chicken every week. Something about the sugar of the tea and seasoning of the chicken is addicting. In fact, I’m craving it now as I write this at 9:30 pm.

My pick: No. 1 Teahouse cream tea, popcorn chicken

Tarka Indian Kitchen

Another go-to choice for us. Ever since visiting London in 2015, we absolutely LOVE Indian food. We’re pretty simple and get the same thing every single time, but it’s just that good.

My pick: Chicken tikka masala with basmati rice, naan, chicken biryani

Tacos A Go Go

Local to Houston, this place has some of the best tacos in town. On a nice night, we’ll walk there with Gordo and eat on their patio. The tacos are a good size and are stuffed with goodies.

My pick: Pollo guisado, tater taco, Totchos A Go Go with chicken, chips & queso

The Halal Guys

If you love rice and chicken (who doesn’t tho), this is the place for you. This place actually started in New York as a food cart but has expanded to brick-and-mortar stores across the country. It’s another feel-good place I order from pretty frequently.

My pick: Chicken platter with extra white sauce

Wingstop

You can’t go wrong with wings. We get this on nights we’re craving comfort food. There’s nothing like digging into some juicy wings on a Friday or Saturday night with a good movie.

My pick: 6-piece combo with 1/2 garlic parmesan and 1/2 Louisiana rub, seasoned fries, and ranch

We try not to eat out too much, but it’s a nice luxury for us every once in a while. Until we’re able to go out to restaurants safely, DoorDash will have to do.

Happy eating!

Vivian
