It has been a hot minute since I last wrote a blog post. You see, I had big dreams and goals on what I would do with my blog since I started it back in December 2017. I had designed my page, written a few posts and even had an editorial calendar for future posts. Well, life hit me hard. More specifically, work hit me really hard.

I have already somewhat talked about my job and the crazy hours we worked, but even I couldn’t have imagined how long our busy season would last this year. I wrote a post a few months ago about how to survive busy season. I can confidently (and tiredly) say that I did survive busy season…but barely. In short: New work for the business (yay!), longer hours for the auditors (boo!). It’s been one heck of a busy season and unlucky for me, we may be going into another one. But we have a lot of big life updates…

WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!

Some of you may have already known, but Drew and I moved in with his parents in December of last year. It was the perfect timing because our lease was over in December and they moved into town over the previous summer. We were lucky enough that they let us live there rent-free so we could save for our house! We started the home search process in March and by the end of April, we were homeowners. We were also lucky in that Drew’s uncle is a realtor and he was super helpful and accommodating.

We are slowly moving in and unpacking (and get to play with our registry gifts). When we moved in with Drew’s parents, we had two storage units. I am happy to report that since moving in we have unloaded and cancelled those storage units (thank goodness)! Now it’s the daily challenge of finding a home for everything and furnishing.

It is going to be one heck of a summer with a lot of house projects. I am just excited to finally have a place to call ours!
